Job Description

  • Capable of reading Ship installation drawings, proficient in NAVSEA Habitability code (T9640-AC-DSP-010/HAB).
  • Competent with Berting installations, ventilation installations and Sanitary Space installation.
  • Review details of the work package such as technical information, specification items, drawings, manuals, sketches, etc.
  • Skilled in layout, rip out, modification, installation, replacement, and repair of structures.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Must pass Background and pre-employment drug screening as well as be DBIDS elegible.
  • Must adhere to applicable documents, references, and safety guidelines including, but not limited to the following:
    1. ABS
    2. MIL STD 2035
    3. MSC General Technical Requirements (GTR)
    4. NAVSEA Standard Items
    5. General Specifications/Overhaul of Ships
    6. OSHA 2268
  • Able to withstand environmental factors such as:
    1. Outside weather conditions
    2. High, precarious places
    3. Exposed to fumes and airborne particles
    4. Very loud noise level
  • Required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms on a regular basis.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and seek assistance with weights over 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally perform other physical activities as required, such as:
    1. Stooping
    2. Bending
    3. Squatting
    4. Climbing (including but not limited to, vertical and incline ladders, masts, and kingposts)
    5. Crawling (including but not limited to, through scuttles, manhole covers, tanks, and voids
