Pipefitter jobs require certification

This type of work consists in assembling, installing and repairing piping systems carrying water, chemicals, fuels needed for a variety of purposes. It is important to have some kind of a training or certification to be able to perform the highly specialized tasks required of this job. Training for pipefitter jobs will enable candidates to learn how to:

  • Set up a job
  • Identify the hazards involved within a task
  • Eliminate or mitigate the risks
  • Pipe preparation
  • Operate basic pipefitter tools
  • Apply basic math necessary for task performance,

besides learning all the other skills required of the trade. The pipefitter should be able to fabricate, assemble, install, maintain and rehabilitate industrial piping operations. He should be familiar with tools such as wrenches, reamers, drills, grinders and other hand tools and machines. Pipefitters must be able to perform a variety of pipeline welding jobs as well.
